Invest
There are many debates on principals and morals and what is right and
what is wrong. Everyone has their own take on what is good for
themselves or what is good for others. Somewhere along the way we
adapt or abandon many . . . how shall we say, guiding principles. It
is a natural part of growth and learning. It is interesting that
despite our own innate ability to decide what is right or wrong for
us individually, there is a set of principles which are understood,
valued and cherished in all cultures, large and small, from the most
civilized city to the most remote tribe.
We may not feel as though we have an entire civilization to inspire,
but we all have people we want to encourage and lift up.
Investing in and believing in others is one of the most fundamental
acts we can do and these simple core principles possess the
incredible ability to turn ordinary people into extraordinary ones:
1. TRUST: Do what is right to build trust it is the most valuable
part of any relationship.
2. COMMITMENT: Simply, do your best. Show up and make the
effort . . . a little goes a long way.
3. CARING: Care deeply about the well-being of others. Without care
from others where would YOU be?
The key point here is that we must learn to INVEST in the GROWTH
(which is a journey) of others and ourselves, not merely the GOAL
(which is a destination). We must also strive to make the distinction
that SUCCESS is adding value to yourself, whereas SIGNIFICANCE is
adding value to others.
Have a beautiful day and consider this - What can you do today to
improve your relationship with someone you know? How about someone
you DO NOT know? Build trust, be committed and show you care, and
you'll be the significant catalyst for the people and changes that come.
Peace and Love, Jim
