Always Asking

Good Morning,

Everyone on the team where i work knows me as the "why guy" due to my incessant and repeated questioning, but why? No matter what the topic, situation or client you can count on me to ask why? to almost every encounter. Why do you want to do that? Why do you find that true? Almost like a small child tiring his parents, there is no end to my questioning of all things fact or fiction.

In my position (creative director) I find the why question invaluable in uncovering essential information. In my spiritual life it simply seems quite natural to question all things I encounter, including my own logic. This brings me to my thought for the day:

Do not believe in anything simply because you have heard it. Do not believe in anything simply because it is spoken and rumored by many. Do not believe in anything simply because it is found written in your religious books. Do not believe in anything merely on the authority of your teachers and elders. Do not believe in traditions because they have been handed down for many generations. But after observation and analysis, when you find that anything agrees with reason and is conducive to the good and benefit of one and all, then accept it and live up to it. - Buddha
